Julia & Ed Chester started 'Peel Gallery' as an arts & crafts gallery and shop in Leicester in 1997. Office space over the top housed Ed's company 'Peel Design' & 'Peel Cards' ran by Julia. As the contemporary greeting cards side of the company grew the shop was taken over by Julia's sister Katherine and Ed scaled back his design work down.
Through the success of Julia's designs 'peel' continued to grow, developing contemporary gifts through a sister company 'Sardine!' that released a very well received range of keepsake tins. Calliope stocks a large selection of items from the Peel and Sardine ranges
